Theatre Trips

Join us on yet another day trip complete with food, friends and a show! We meet our bus at 11:15 a.m. at the Biddeford Park & Ride and depart promptly at 11:30 for lunch on our own at The Great Lost Bear in Portland. From there we will travel to the nearby Good Theater on Congress St. for a 2 p.m. performance of the “No Biz Like Show Biz,” a tribute to two legends of Broadway - Mary Martin and Ethel Merman. The show features songs from such shows as Girl Crazy, South Pacific, Anything Goes, Peter Pan, DuBarry Was a Lady, The Sound of Music, Red Hot & Blue, I Do! I Do! and many more. Three singers, Marie Dittmer, Lynne McGhee and Jen Means, will take you on a musical journey that spans four decades of the best of Broadway. Created and Directed by Brian P. Allen, Musical Direction and Arrangements by Victoria Stubbs.

42ND STREET is the song and dance fable of Broadway with an “American Dream” story and includes some of the greatest songs ever written, such as “We’re In The Money,” “Lullaby of Broadway,” “Shuffle Off To Buffalo,” “Dames,” “I Only Have Eyes For You” and of course “42nd Street.” Based on a novel by Bradford Ropes and Busby Berkeley’s 1933 movie, 42ND STREET tells the story of a starry-eyed young dancer named Peggy Sawyer who leaves her Allentown home and comes to New York to audition for the new Broadway musical Pretty Lady. When the star breaks her ankle, Peggy takes over and becomes a star.
